62nd National Congress of Psychiatry: an adult ADHD course and a debate on psychostimulants

On the first day of the 62nd National Congress of Psychiatry, held in Ankara on 14–18 October 2026, the Adult ADHD Work Unit ran the course “A clinical approach to adult ADHD: how do we recognise and treat it?”, taught by Bengi Semerci, Arzu Erkan and Assoc. Prof. Ali Kandeğer. Kandeğer covered starting, maintaining and monitoring medication.
On 15 October, in the debate “Psychostimulants in an age of speed, growing demands and scattered attention: friend or foe?”, Kandeğer argued that the wider use of psychostimulants meets a real need. Arzu Erkan, Didem Sucullu Dikici, Sinan Aydın and Fatmagül Dikyar Altun also took part.
“It was a busy few days of courses, panels, debates and work-unit sessions, and a very enjoyable one. Sharing science and meeting colleagues was as valuable as ever.”
Assoc. Prof. Ali Kandeğer
